Alison has 40 years experience working in Tourism in Britain and Europe. She speaks fluent Spanish and English and has a good knowledge of French, an understanding of Italian, Portuguese, German and Japanese.
Her first tour work started after studying Spanish and French at Leeds University as a Tour Manager in Europe with the leading English Tour Operator, Thomson Holidays. (Now Tui) mainly in Germany, Italy and Spain where also ran an English Academy in Navarre). After moving back to England in 1985 Alison started working for the Bath Tourist Information Centre and set up her own language school in Bath " Escuelita de Bath" in 1994 , teaching Spanish to children and adults. There is a big Hispanic community in Bath . Alison also runs the Bath Spanish Circle ( Circulo Hispanico de Bath) which organises many events and social meetings for any-one who is a Spanish National or any-one who wants to practice Spanish language and customs. She also organise tours and exchange visits to Spanish Speaking Countries. In 2000 she again began to work as a Tour Manager in Europe for Swan Tours a leading Tour Operator based in Bath and later for Go With Glow based in Bristol as a tour manager in Europe and the UK. During all this time Alison carried on working at The Bath Visitor Information Centre and Bath Box Office which is now part of Visit Bath. VB is now one of the largest Regional Development Agencies in the UK. Having now celebrated her 35th year with Visit Bath she has the reputation of knowing everything there is to know about the history of Bath and the surrounding area. Alison covers mainly Bath, Bristol, The Cotswolds , Salisbury/Stonehenge, Wells, Cheddar and Glastonbury and over the last few years since 2010 has taken tours to Southampton, Winchester, Brighton, Windsor, Cardiff, Wales, Stratford on Avon, Oxford, York.
