A few snaps of today's Jane Austen Grand Regency Costumed Promenade, heralding the beginning of The Jane Austen Festival (Ironic when you realise that Jane Austen disliked Bath. She lived there for several years with her family after her father retired, and some critics argue that she found the place so depressing she was unable to work.)
But I'm sure she'd have loved today :-) Chance meeting between colleagues Melitta and Mei from ITours International, between hectic tours in Bath today — at The Roman Baths
*"Well I never" :-)Strange clothes, odd expression and very old-fashioned? Yep, that's Mei on the left!
Bath life, Bath LIVE! A few snaps from guides Alison and MelittaA Few Snaps From Alison's Tour to The UEFA football match between Real Madrid and Juventus11/6/2017 From The National Trust's Website 01/04/17:The Uffington White Horse is one of England’s largest and best-known chalk figures. Experts believe the horse to be around 3,000 years old, but a recent geophysical survey has revealed that it is not the only ancient work of art in the area.
The survey showed the remains of a second stylised figure on a nearby hillside, which has been christened the Uffington White Duck. Standing at around 360 feet tall, we think that this figure may be the ancient symbol of a local tribe who venerated wild mallards. Our plan will be to restore this great animal, so eventually you’ll be able to see the incredible Duck outline, just as you can with the Uffington Horse. Visitors will be able to see the two animals side by side. Read more (and video) HERE iToursInternational had a rare chance to meet up with Hotels & More's Leonie...
